Big Sur & Pacific Coast Highway : The name "Big Sur" is derived from the original Spanish-language "el sur grande", which translates as "the big south", or from "el país grande del sur", "the big country of the south". And so it seemed to early settlers in Monterey. The Big Sur region, about 89 highway miles (143 km) in length along California's coastal Highway 1, lies between the San Francisco Bay area and the Los Angeles area.

DUMBO : DUMBO, an acronym for Down Under the Manhattan Bridge Overpass is a neighborhood in the New York City, New York borough of Brooklyn. It encompasses two sections; one located between the Manhattan and Brooklyn Bridges, which connect Brooklyn to Manhattan across the East River, and another which continues east from the Manhattan Bridge to the Vinegar Hill area.
Until the 1890s, the western portion of neighborhood was known as Fulton Landing, after the water-ferry stop that connected it to Manhattan before the Brooklyn Bridge opened. Then primarily a manufacturing district housing factories that made machinery, paper boxes and Brillo soap pads, it began becoming primarily residential when artists and other young homesteaders, seeking relatively large and inexpensive loft apartment spaces for studios and homes, began moving there in the late 1970s. The acronym DUMBO arose in 1978, when new residents coined it in the belief such an unattractive name would help deter developers. Near the end of the 20th century, as property became more and more valuable in Manhattan, DUMBO became increasingly gentrified.

Urinetown : Urinetown: The Musical is an award-winning satirical comedy musical that pokes fun at capitalism, socialism, bureaucracy, corporate mismanagement, and petty small town politics. Urinetown rejects musical theatre convention, parodying successful Broadway shows such as Les Misérables, Evita, Annie and West Side Story, and even satirizes its own significance. In reverse pantomime style, the unconventional plotline shatters audience expectations of a pleasant ending. Famous songs from the show include "Don't Be the Bunny" and "Run, Freedom, Run!"

The show was directed by Tony Award winner John Rando, and features music and lyrics by Mark Hollmann and book and lyrics by Greg Kotis. It debuted at the New York International Fringe Festival, was produced Off-Broadway at the American Theatre for Actors and then moved to Broadway, opening at Henry Miller's Theatre on September 20, 2001 (its planned opening having been postponed after the September 11, 2001 attacks). It ran on Broadway through January 18, 2004, closing with a total of 25 previews and 965 performances.

Night of the Living Noir : The term film noir (French for "black film"), first applied to Hollywood movies by French critic Nino Frank in 1946, was unknown to most American film industry professionals of the era. Cinema historians and critics defined the canon of film noir in retrospect; many of those involved in the making of the classic noirs later professed to be unaware of having created a distinctive type of film. These images are the first in series which attempts to capture the NYC's various noir moods.
